Well I made it out for another lovely day of ice fishing on Ontario's beloved Lake Simcoe.

We started off our day fishing for Whitefish but a couple of us decided to hop over a few hundred yard and try our luck at Perch.
Boy,did we hit into the perch.
In less that an hour and a half we both had our 50 fish limit of decent 10 and 11 inch keepers with a few thrown in over 13 inches.
After that we headed back to the deep water and hit into a large school of whitefish . From 11 till 2 the six of us landed 7 whitefish and lost about twenty.

A great way of passing the time away waiting for June 26th to arrive.

Sorry,no pictures.

Thanks for the report John. Yummy upcoming meals with all those perch. As for the whitefish, neither Francine or I liked the whitefish I harvested in Kipawa (we BBQ'd it skin down with a Renées sauce). Consequently, I will not be harvesting any more whitefish.

If you ever catch another one while we are there,Steve will gladly cook it up for the disfunctionals to enjoy fresh.
You will change your mind after that.

The ones I harvest out of Simcoe are generally smoked.
I'll try to get some ready for our June trip for you to taste.
