I am sending this e-mail from the states. I am a frequent vistor to Canada traveling to Fort Coulonge and the Kipawa area. I have a very close Algonquin friend in the Fort Coulonge area. He is trying to obtain the copies of his grandfathers birth records for his children.(and copies of any other records as well. His grandfather was Cezar Paul. He was born at Wolf Lake in 1863. He died in 1975. For a while he was Quebec's oldest resident. During a canoe trip to Kipawa I stopped at the native gift shop in Temiscaming. A girl who was working at the gift shop told me that the birth records were moved from the Church at Wolf Lake to the Catholic Church in Mattawa. My question is, does anyone reading this have access to these records and would they be willing to obtain a copy of them for my friend. Any additional information as well would be appreciated. I will be coming to the Temiscaming Area November 7 through the 13th. I would like to obtain them during this time if possible. This would mean a lot to my friend because he doesn't have the resources to pursue this. Thank you
